Call for translation

Dear all,

After more than 1 year of my involvement in the volunteer activities in Viet Nam, especially in Ha Noi, I have noticed that our movement lack the guidance and direction then there is still waste – waste of time, waste of money and most importantly waste of youth energy. I think if the volunteers in Viet Nam are trained, they would produce more and better results.

In the situation of rare training available for volunteers, especially for freelance volunteers, I am asking you for contribution to bring the helpful articles, documents and toolkits to the Vietnamese volunteers. The world’s big organizations like UNV or TIG already have many but they are all in English. What if these free documents are translated into Vietnamese then they are distributed to all the volunteers and voluntary groups/networks?

What could we do?
1. Choose the approriate resources. (We will start with those from UNV and TIG.)
2. Translate them into Vietnamese.
3. Gather all the translation to make a database.
4. Publish the translated documents onto the source websites.
5. Provide the translated documents to all volunteers, voluntary groups and networks that are interested in.

How to contribute?
1. Be a translator or editor.
2. Spread this call-for-action to your friends.
3. Recommend us the resources that you have or you think are useful to the volunteerism.
4. Send us your advice and comments.

In any case, feel free to contact me at pinkie_ahn@yahoo.com

Thank you for your consideration.
Pinkie

I'd like to join
That's a great idea, Pinkie! However, I think volunteers in Vietnam will need not only guidelines and documents in Vietnamese but also a forum/blog where they can share their ideas and where newbies can learn from the experienced people. Do you think so?

Welcome
Yes you are right. Many youth are trying to build up platforms for youth to come and share. VANY project or www.aoxanh.net can be examples.

However I cannot do all the things, then I choose to do what I can. I'll be contacting you soon.

Thanks for your ideas
I'd like to participate in Forum/Blog. But i know that my knowledge of English is so poor. It's difficult for me to join in. But I think that
This is good opportunities for me to practice and learn more.
Are you ready helping me? Can you tell me guidelines to implement, now?
